Rinico Tentenverhuur handles rapid growth with Pacton

1 December 2023

After a long preparation period, the new three-axle Pacton trailer for Rinico Tentenverhuur in Mill was immediately put to good use in October 2023. “The coronavirus pandemic hit our branch hard, so our order for Pacton was delayed for quite some time. But with the new equipment, we can finally handle the growth in our work”, explains co-owner Jaap van de Vorle.

Rinico Tentenverhuur is specialised in the rental of pagoda tents, aluminium-frame party tents and aluminium halls of every size and for every event, for both the private and commercial markets. From a tent for a private party or wedding, to an employee party, opening, trade fair or major festival. In collaboration with long-term partners, Rinicio can also arrange the entire decoration and layout of a tent, including heating, lighting, lavatories, furnishings, decoration and catering.

Brothers Jaap and Harm van de Vorle stand at the helm of the tent rental firm, which they took over in 2000. Since then, they have steadily expanded their activities. The company is active throughout the Netherlands and in Germany and Belgium, and offers a total of 9,000 m2 of tent and floor space. Rinico Tentenverhuur moved to Mill in 2003. There, they work with a permanent team of 9 employees and a pool of on-call staff.

Handling growth

With the new Pacton type AXD.330.L trailer, Rinico Tentenverhuur can handle the dramatic growth in their work following the major dip during the coronavirus pandemic. “At first we thought that it couldn’t possibly get busier than last year, but we’ll at least match that result in 2023”, says Van de Vorle.

The Pacton trailer is nine meters long. Its three BPW pneumatic axles with drum brakes have a technical load capacity of 10 tonnes per axle. The front axle is liftable. The double pneumatic suspension is carried by Goodyear 265/70 R 19.5 tyres. The chassis is equipped bogie steering with a double-row turntable with a load capacity of 10 tonnes and a mechanically adjustable A-frame.

Securing floor panels

Rinico’s bespoke solutions include transporting 28 mm hardwood floors with 16 round holes at the edges to secure the floor panels. The first panel fits into the steel edge profile, and the next one hooks into the previous panel. The trailer is also equipped with 2 x 10 4-tonne collapsible tie eyes (TüV certified) around the sides. The front beam features six stanchions. Side panels have been fitted to the wheel base in accordance with EU regulations. The trailer also has a stainless steel toolbox. U-shaped profiles have been fitted to the rear of the trailer to attach ramps to load forklifts if necessary.

The trailer has plenty of safety lighting, including 2 x 5 yellow LED side lights under the sides, 2 white LED lights to mark the width at the front, 2 work lights at the rear, 2 work lights behind the turntable, and 2 blinker lights at the rear. There are also two red/white/orange LED rubber pole lamps at the rear as well.

After the welding was completed, Pacton grit blasted, galvanised and painted the entire chassis in two-component primer with a finish in two-component body paint. Following inspection by the RDW, Pacton delivered the trailer complete to Rinico.

Own fleet

Rinico Tentenverhuur’s fleet of vehicles includes three DAF covered lorries with universal trailers. The company also has an Iveco Daily with a semi-flatbed, and a DAF lorry with a flatbed trailer. Rinico Tentenverhuur’s services depend on a sturdy and reliable vehicle fleet. “We recently took delivery of two new DAF covered lorries, which makes almost our entire fleet Euro 6-compliant. The Iveco Daily will be upgraded to Euro 6 standard next year. We also recently expanded our property for the effective storage of materials and equipment.”

Rinico uses its own in-house and up-to-date fleet to transport all of the rental supplies and the construction equipment, including tents, tent equipment, floor panels, forklifts and platform lifts. Rinico works for many large and small parties and festivals; from company events and weddings to the Paaspop festival in Schijndel. But also Heideweek in Ede, Intents festival in Oisterwijk and Rijnweek in Rhenen. The tents are increasingly rented out to the funeral branch to replace their permanent locations. And of course, Rinico’s tents are in demand for the annual Carnaval event and several winter skating rink projects.

Dutch product

Rinico Tentenverhuur prefers to use products made in the Netherlands if possible. “Yes, we try to buy locally made Dutch products. We often saw Pacton’s brand name on trailers in our work and on the road. My brother Harm’s in-laws - he’s co-owner of Rinico Tentenverhuur - have a lot of experience in the transport business. They said they’d had good experiences with Pacton. That’s how we ended up with Pacton”, recalls Jaap van de Vorle. “And we’re very satisfied with our sturdy, bespoke Pacton trailer!”
